    This medal was chosen as the 102nd issue of the prestigious Society of Medalists series in 1980.

    The reverse bears (no pun intended) Christopher Robin standing with Kanga and Roo, Piglet, and Winnie-the-Pooh. Around, WINNIE-THE-POOH BY A.A.MILNE; below, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN EXPLAINS

    As many medallic artists before and after him, Edward Hoffman picked up on a subject from his sculptural work. He wrote:

    "There is something of the make-believe in these subjects that is beguiling and universal in their appeal. ... They are also the subject of a sculpture commission I executed for the Children's Wing of the Hannover, Pa. Public Library."

    This medal measures 73mm in diameter and was struck by the Medallic Art Company of Danbury, Connecticut. Its reported production quantity is 750 pieces in bronze.
